Not two humans are alike, and brain injuries create complex support
and rehabilitation needs unique to each person. With this top of
mind, our team, which is comprised of participants, their family
members, our professionals and staff design a program specifically
for each participant. Our people implement
these programs on a daily basis.
Real life, practical approach to rehabilitation
The duration of individualized programs and length of stay for our
participants vary from a few days to years. We truly offer a unique
therapeutic community environment. By receiving rehabilitation in
a home-like environment, we have found the re-learning of skills
to be more functional and meaningful. Participants are able to receive
rehabilitation in a more realistic environment on a day-to-day basis,
which creates an increased ability to transfer the skills they learn
to their own community environment. Classic Rehab Community offers
both transitional rehabilitation as well as residential options
for people living with acquired brain injury.
We encourage the participation of family and friends and it is
with their input and suggestions which establishes the direction
and focus of the programs. We understand that the effects of brain
injury have a devastating impact on family and loved ones and therefore
family and friends are included in our community of support. Family,
friends, fun, social connections and involvement in the community
are important aspects of participant programs.
Individualized programs may include:
- Physical, speech and occupational therapy
- Computers – Internet, assessments and skills.
- Behaviour support and social skills development
- Peer support and community activities
- Daily living skills
- Volunteer programs.
- Leisure and recreational opportunities
